Each Benediction should begin as follows:
V: Our help is in the Name of the Lord
R: Who has made heaven and earth.
V: The Lord be with you.
R: And with your spirit.
V: Let us pray.
Antiphon. O taste and see how gracious the Lord is;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.
The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the Body of Christ?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the Blood of Christ?
Let us pray.
ALMIGHTY God, who by thy blessed Son did institute the blessed Sacrament of his Body and Blood; Bless ✠, we pray You, and hallow this Chalice and Paten, for use at the altar of Your Church, and grant that herewith the sacrifice of Your dear Son may be continually offered, and that those who receive therefrom the holy Mysteries may be filled with Your grace and heavenly benediction; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty and Everling God, Who by the hand of Moses did command Your servant Aaron to take of the manna which You did send down from Heaven for the food of Your people Israel, and lay up the same to be kept continually before You; Who has declared by Your well-beloved Son that You give unto those who believe to eat of the true and living Bread which comes down from Heaven, and gives life unto the world; vouchsafe to accept, consecrate ✠, and bless ✠ this receptacle, that therein the most holy Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ may be continually preserved for the honour of Your Name, and the spiritual food and nourishment of our souls; Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Lord God Almighty, Who did during forty days instruct Your servant Moses to make ornaments and fine linen for the use of Your ministry and the Tarbernacle of the Covenant; vouchsafe to bless ✠, hallow, and consecrate this [ ] for the service of the Altar of Your most glorious Son our Lord Jesus Christ; Who lives reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
O God, Whose power is Almighty, Who are the Creator and hallower of all things; graciously hear our prayers, and vouchsafe Yourself to bless ✠ and hallow these garments for the use of Thy ministers, and grant that all those that use them, attending in Your Temple, and serving You devoutly and reverently in them, may become well pleasing unto You; Through Your only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
O Lord, cause the might Your Holy Spirit to descend on these books, to cleanse, purify, bless ✠, and hallow them; and may He mercifully englighten our hearts, and give us understanding to keep Your commandments, and to fulfill them in good works according to Your will; Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
