For Children

O Lord Jesus Christ, who does embrace children with the arms of your mercy, and does make them living members of your church: Give them [or name of the children] grace, we pray you, to stand fast in your faith, to obey your word, and to abide in your love, that, being made strong by your Holy Spirit, they may resist temptation and overcome evil, and may rejoice in the life that now is, and dwell with you in the life that is to come, through your merits, O merciful Saviour, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns as one God, world without end. Amen.

¶ Or this.

Almighty God, heavenly Father, who have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us light and strength so to train them, that they may love whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely and of good report, following the example of their Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

For the preaching of Gospel

Almighty and everlasting God, who in days of old did cause Your word to grow mightily and to prevail: We praise and magnify Your holy name for the manifestation of Your presence in this our day, and we beseech You to pour out Your Spirit upon the church, that Your way may be known upon earth and Your saving health among all nations, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God, who by sending the Spirit at Pentecost did endue Your apostles with power to witness Your Son and to make disciples of all the nations: Pour out abundantly, we beseech You, the same Holy Spirit upon Your church, that it may bring the good tidings of great joy to all people, especially we pray [names of those we want them to hear the gospel], and that every man may hear in his own tongue Your wonderful works, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Guidance

O God, by whom the meek are guided in judgement, and light rises up in darkness for the godly: Grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what You want us to do, that the Spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices, and that in Your light we may see light, and in Your straight path may not stumble, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
